Tour Overview
This Egypt New Year Tour runs seven days through Cairo, Aswan, the Nile River and Luxor, built to carry travelers from the Giza Plateau through the Nile Valley’s major temples while celebrating New Year in Egypt along the way. The Grand Egyptian Museum’s full Tutankhamun collection, a 5-star Nile cruise between Aswan and Luxor, and the temples of Karnak, Luxor and the Valley of the Kings form the core of this seven-day route.
Itinerary
Arrival at Cairo International Airport is met by a representative who handles arrival formalities before the transfer to the hotel. The evening is left free to settle in and take in Cairo’s festive atmosphere ahead of six more days of sightseeing.
A full day begins at the Giza Plateau, standing before the Great Pyramid of Khufu alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. The Grand Egyptian Museum follows, with its collection of Tutankhamun’s treasures, before the day closes at Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
Meals Included
A short domestic flight brings travelers to Aswan to board the Nile Cruise. The Aswan High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk open the sightseeing, followed by Philae Temple on its island, with dinner served on board as the ship settles in for the night.
Meals Included
The cruise continues to Kom Ombo, a symmetrical double temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus, before the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, with its towering pylons and detailed hieroglyphs.
Meals Included
Luxor’s West Bank opens with the Valley of the Kings, including the tomb of Tutankhamun, followed by the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut carved into the cliffs and the towering Colossi of Memnon.
Meals Included
Karnak Temple’s massive columns and sacred lakes open the day, followed by Luxor Temple, connected to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes. A flight back to Cairo closes out the cruise portion of the trip.
Meals Included
A final breakfast precedes the transfer to the airport for departure, closing out this seven-day Egypt New Year Tour.
