Tour Overview
This Egypt Tour follows a well-established route built around Cairo and the Nile, giving travelers a full Egypt Travel Itinerary in a single week. The trip opens in Cairo with the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, then continues south by flight to Aswan to board a 5-star Nile Cruise sailing through Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Luxor. Along the way, the Temple of Philae, the Unfinished Obelisk, and an optional excursion to Abu Simbel round out a 7 Days Egypt Itinerary built for travelers who want both guided structure and time to take in each site.
Itinerary
Landing at Cairo International Airport marks the start of this Egypt Tour, with a full meet-and-assist service waiting on arrival. A private transfer takes travelers to their hotel, where check-in is arranged ahead of time so the room is ready without delay. The rest of the day is left free to settle in before the itinerary begins in earnest the following morning.
Breakfast at the hotel comes before a morning at the Giza Plateau, where the Great Sphinx faces the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure across the desert. A stop at the Valley Temple rounds out the morning before lunch at a local restaurant serving traditional Egyptian dishes. The afternoon continues with a preview visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, taking in its galleries, the Grand Hall, and the landscaped outdoor gardens.
Meals Included
A short flight south to Aswan follows breakfast, moving the Egypt Travel Itinerary deeper into Nubia. On arrival, a transfer leads straight to the Nile Cruise ship, with time to settle into the cabin before lunch on board. The afternoon brings visits to the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the island Temple of Philae, before dinner is served on deck as the ship rests for the night.
Meals Included
A relaxed morning on the Nile offers the choice of staying on board or joining an optional excursion to the Temples of Abu Simbel, where colossal statues and detailed carvings mark one of Egypt’s most striking sites. In the afternoon, the ship sails toward Kom Ombo, docking so travelers can walk through its symmetrical twin temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus. Lunch and a candlelit dinner on deck bookend an afternoon of sailing toward Edfu.
Meals Included
Morning begins at the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient sites, before the cruise continues toward Luxor via Esna with lunch served on board. On arrival in Luxor, the East Bank reveals two of the country’s most significant temples, Karnak and Luxor Temple, both included in this stretch of the 7 Days Egypt Itinerary. Dinner and an overnight stay follow back on the ship.
Meals Included
A final breakfast on board precedes a full day exploring Luxor’s West Bank, starting with the Valley of the Kings and its collection of royal tombs. The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon follow, each adding a different chapter to the site’s long history. In the evening, a flight returns travelers to Cairo for a final night’s rest in the capital.
Meals Included
A last breakfast at the hotel precedes the transfer to Cairo Airport for the departure flight. The Egypt Travel Itinerary closes here, bringing this 7 Days Egypt Itinerary to its conclusion after a week spent moving between Cairo’s monuments and the Nile Valley’s ancient temples.
