Tour Overview
This Egypt Travel Package covers both of Cairo’s pyramid fields before moving south along the Nile, giving travelers Egypt Tours 8 Days that start with Saqqara’s Step Pyramid and end in historic Luxor. The route takes in the Egyptian Museum, Old Coptic Cairo, and Khan el Khalili bazaar before a flight to Aswan for a 3-night Nile Cruise through Kom Ombo and Edfu. Four nights in a 5-star Cairo hotel and a private Egyptologist guide throughout keep the pace steady across all eight days.
Itinerary
A tour manager greets travelers at the airport the moment they land in Egypt’s capital, beginning this Egypt Travel Package with a smooth transfer to a 5-star hotel. Check-in is handled on arrival, with the tour manager remaining available throughout the stay for questions or special requests. The rest of the day is free to settle in before sightseeing begins.
The day opens at Saqqara with the Djoser Pyramid, the world’s first major stone structure and a turning point in architectural history. From there, the Great Pyramids of Giza come into view, led by the Pyramid of Khufu, the last surviving Ancient Wonder of the World, alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. An Egyptologist guide walks through the construction and mysteries of each monument, with time built in for photographs near the Sphinx.
Meals Included
Breakfast comes before a morning at the Egyptian Museum, home to more than 120,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years, including the collection of King Tutankhamun. Lunch at a local restaurant follows, before the afternoon continues at the Hanging Church in Old Coptic Cairo, a structure dating to the 3rd century AD built above the Roman-era Babylon Fortress water gate. The day winds down with a stroll through Khan el Khalili, Cairo’s historic bazaar.
Meals Included
Arrival in Aswan brings travelers aboard their Nile Cruise ship for the first time, with the Aswan High Dam as the first stop of the day. The Unfinished Obelisk follows, still attached to its original bedrock and offering insight into ancient stone-working methods. The afternoon closes at the island Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis and relocated to protect it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, before the ship docks overnight in Aswan.
Meals Included
The cruise resumes toward Luxor, passing Kom Ombo Temple, a rare double temple built with perfect symmetry for the gods Sobek and Horus the Elder, including a small display of ancient crocodile mummies. Sailing continues to Edfu, home to one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples, dedicated to the god Horus and reached by a walk through its towering pylons. By evening, the ship arrives in Luxor for dinner on board.
Meals Included
Breakfast with Nile views opens a day dedicated to the Valley of the Kings, burial ground of rulers from Egypt’s Eighteenth through Twentieth Dynasties. The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut follows, carved directly into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, before the Colossi of Memnon close out the West Bank visits. Lunch and dinner are served back on the cruise ship, docked overnight in Luxor.
Meals Included
After breakfast, the Karnak Temple Complex opens the day’s sightseeing, its Great Hypostyle Hall home to 134 massive columns built up over more than 2,000 years. Luxor Temple follows, expanded by pharaohs including Amenhotep III, Tutankhamun, and Rameses II. With the cruise portion complete, a flight returns travelers to Cairo for the evening.

A final breakfast at the Cairo hotel marks the close of this Egypt Travel Package, with memories of pyramids, temples, and the Nile carried home. The transfer to the airport brings the Egypt Tours 8 Days itinerary to its end.
